Hello All,

I have this sestertius in my collection. And I am wondering if this is a common Gordian III type or an rare early Gordian I (africanus) type?

For an emperor that wasn't in office for very long a lot of coins were struck in his name. On the whole his coins are common.

Legend does look like "SEV ALE-" above the bust, but I'm not sure about the portrait. I was initially leaning toward Trebonianus Gallus.

SEV ALEXAND is visible. Portrait is consistent with Severus Alexander.
