quote:
I have inlaid the George Washington quarter in to the front side of the Sacagawea dollar. I use only unc. coins taken from mint bags or unc bank rolls using white cotton gloves

Simply fascinating. The guy read about those mules and thought "hey, I can make those..." The "white gloves" are a nice touch.

Yes his title is a bit misleading, but I think he put forth enough effort to ensure he wasn't trying to rip people off. I personally don't think it was intentional. He's been an ebay member for over five years and only has 48 sales, he's only doing this for a hobby. If he was trying to rip people off he could have coated the quarter side to match. He's just trying to sell it as a novelty, and he's not very ebay smart. I think you should give him a break and just suggest he change the title. Explain to him why, and I'm sure he would understand.

first he writes: When the mint made this famous mistake of minting the Sacagawea dollar they stamped the George Washington quarter on the face side while keeping the eagle on the reverse side.

then he writes that he makes it himself and its not a mint error, hes just contradicting himself

He makes it sound as if this is an actual mint error until you get to the very end.I know its not smart not to read the entire description, but there are people who dont......It just looks to me like hes fishing for those people...

I think his ad is criminally misleading: "When the mint made this famous mistake of minting the Sacagawea dollar they stamped the George Washington quarter on the face side while keeping the eagle on the reverse side. Now you can own one of these famous error coins"

He first states:

"This is a Sacagawea error Dollar Quarter mule." Then states I can own one of "these" famous error coins.

This statement is against ebay policy because begins by leading (misleading, really) the buyer into thinking theyre buying (one of these famous error coins) the coin in the image (which he claims, "...is a Sacagawea error Dollar Quarter mule."

So,it's carpet-bagging double-speak. "What you see in my left hand is what you can buy hidden in my right hand."
