Sorry, I don't see anything on this coin. But I want to congratulate you on I feel your best images yet. If something was there, it would have been seen. Great improvement!

Yes, great photo! I especially how clear the strike surface is in the fields.
Not that I really have anything to add over Coop, but I might see some MD in the date that's also present in the mm?

First of all, Nice 1959....
Second, I do see the slight splitting that your talking about, though I don't know if it's a D/D or not.... very hard to tell... I see it more so in the top pic just above the top line of the "D" & the just above the bottom line of the "D". Need better top lit pics to see if any NW serif splitting.

Still no see. RPMs that are the weakest that are listed are still stronger than anything I see on your images. Here are a few examples:

So with the magnification you have and the image ability, you are ready to find varieties. You just haven't found the right coin yet. They are there. It takes many, many till you find one. When you do, it will pull your eyes to it. And guess who will be the first ones to see it? Right here.

I agree with the others - the 1959D is a normal coin.

Kurt, get a few rolls of 1960-D cents, and you will find your first, (of many), RPM's. They are "all over the place"! Well, there are over 174 of them on ths site, (coppercoins.com).
