Quote: I would LOVE to see them all and would gladly step aside as the "Days of..." Generalissi-Moe to allow our next thread to be a US Colonials one for someone else to host. Well, I have Bowers book: "Colonial and Early American Coins" and would be happy to put together a "days of"-style thread on this subject if you are open to splitting this from your current thread (wouldn't want to compete for posts...) I envision something like this thread that I put together for the Ancients and Medievals area of CCF: http://goccf.com/t/269713I would follow the format of the book and each general area of US colonials would have a full week of postings (as opposed to only a day--not sure that I have that kind of energy). I only have a few of these coins, but would post some facts and links to other parts of CCF (e.g. the post-a-Fugio-cent thread). Also, I would need a little help with the thread title changing as I don't have poobah status. Sound like a good idea or is it really just better to keep Colonials folded in here?

Suppose, for example, someone on this forum has three Brasher's Doubloons, and a couple of New England Stuivers. On the new thread, they could post all five, but on the current thread, they could post only one.

I agree, this thread scenario would be too limiting to the display of Colonials that, I personally, want to see!! Also, given a choice, I would prefer the Colonial thread to run after this one, but if the Colonials Thread Originator really wants to get it going, I will be an avid viewer!

Tommorow Tommorow, I love ya, Tommorow Tommorow, is only a day a way. Eh Hem....How did you like my singing voice? Darn!! Tommorow is 1909, and I have 4 1909s at ANACS! Oh well, at least I have pictures of some of them.

1909 cent (VDB): I wonder how many of these we'll see today?

The very first ever 1909 VDB I owned. Still own. Paid $1.65 for it in 1998 or 1999. Seller's grade on the 2x2 was VF30. It currently holds the spot of honor in my Dansco 7103. I kept the 2x2 as well.

Here's another 1909 VDB. My mom found this one when we were looking through the LWC cauldron together at the LCS when I was nine. She spotted that nearly worn off VDB and I was so happy to fill that earliest hole in my folder and have a new oldest coin! She passed away the following year, giving this coin enormous sentimental value to me. It's one of the few specific memories I have of her.
