Try this - It's eBays "Contact Us" page. Some sellers turn into idiots and fight the return/refund practice every way they can.

Then just call ebay and describe whats going on.

Please clarify - you have opened a case in the Resolution Center, is that right?

Yes, his reply was that it was either not his note or that someone had done something to it. I should not have posted the led light pics as that just confused the poor soul. On the 29th I can request ebay step in.

Probably right. What were the exact return conditions on the original listing, please.

Well, there doesn't seem to be an issue here. In further correspondence with seller or ebay, I suggest you simply say "I wish to return this item in exact condition received." No further references to backlighting. Let it play out and get back to us.

Well, last night he proposed sending me $20 and I keep the note. I agreed then I got an email that he had messed up and accepted the return, so I am now waiting for the return label. I don't think I will be buying anything from that seller in the future.

Keep up with this, sounds like you may have to "push" the issue a little. You're too nice, I would have asked for my $80 plus any postage.

Really, I agree - although it seems he is going to get his entire purchase price back. I wouldn't want anything to do with that bill after knowing how it was processed to defraud a buyer.

This has been a real learning experience for me. First don't buy notes from sellers who specialize in rocks, unless they are graded, and when you want to return something just do what is necessary.
