I just received this Minneapolis district $20 1928 frn. The seller claimed au+ but I think it might have been washed and pressed. You can see the fold on the back right above the T of STATES. The is also a crease visible on the front above the E in FEDERAL. When out of the holder the note curls up a little on the ends. I paid $80 for it and am thinking of returning it. I have no problem with a seller stretching the truth a little on condition, but the listing pics did not really show that fold visible from the back. What do my fellow currency buffs think? I value all opinions.

On larger view it seems there are traces of a lengthwise middle fold barely visible on the front too.

The corners all look a little soft also. Take a small LED flashlight and shine it length wise across the note to see hard to find folds and any trace of embossing. See sample photo below.

Good advice, Stever.
To me, nothing special. Better district but little premium. Price is okay, but curl factor is bothersome and agree corners are not consistent with AU. Not wild about it. Not worth that much even in gem.

Good Grief! Using Steve's tip of an led light, this thing turns into something strange! Does anyone think it has been washed and pressed?

In over 1400 or so ebay transactions, I have never returned anything. Is it better to click on the Return Item button, or just send a note to the seller that I want to send it back. He gives a 14 day return period.

Quote: Is it better to click on the Return Item button Yes, that way it goes through ebay and they know there is a problem. Plus you can add pictures for proof.

Seller responded that the led pics were not his note. I asked him to check the serial number and explained how the led pics show faults that don't show in the scan I took.

Gives you some idea of the intelligence of the seller.

When I went to my purchase history to look at the original listing, it has been removed. Is that normal when you open a case on ebay?

I can understand the seller's shock seeing his bill portrayed in such a different light (pun intended), but to deny the bill being his.... the serial number....

Now he is saying someone did something to it and I have heard nothing since then.
