to the family!

All I see is a normal coin...ghosting around date is normal becuz copper plating is thin and high speed machine vibrations is all. What's that crud under LIBERTY?

White spots seem to come from what mint was he planchets with, common also.

I don't see anything abnormal but, most of the coin is too dark to tell.

I saw that weird thing under LIBERTY but that area is so dark, there's no telling.

I don't think taking a magnifying glass to my phone screen showing that pic will help at all.

Try to focus on that area under LIBERTY with better light.

I agree that it be beneficial to all to post a couple pics - maybe from different angles with more#8203; lighting? Please? I've been looking at the 2017-D (only have examined ~200 BU mint-fresh so far), but there is something that doesn't look/feel quite right about the date, MM, IGWT. And on the REV, the ribbon, "ONE CENT", to a lesser extent the rest of the Union Shield. It's still somewhat early in the year, probably 1 billion or so more one cent copper-coated zincs to be struck in Denver (just a wild guess)? Maybe toward the end of the year first of next year the cents will have this possible error/variety more pronounced and we can figure out what's going on. Oh, just to throw another unsubstantiated guess out there: the Mint(s) will most likely dump truck-loads of BUs into circulation during "Consumer Season", a.k.a. Thanksgiving through New Year's. BTW, that's a good time to walk into your bank, or Wally-World/grocery store, with $25.OO and ask for a brick of pennies...if you want 2,500 2017-D BU one cent coins in rolls.
P.S. Sorry for not being anywhere objective or precise in my reply. Nor, any proof...yet.
