I am collecting lower quality large cents. Looking for an opinion on this lot of coins.

From the Ad . .

Kind of pricey for damaged low grade merchandise . . IMHO
But it's your call . .

To me, no.

Also, you may find it wise to post pictures of the lots rather than direct links to the auctions. This is a public forum, and there are some jerks that will try to take things out from under you.

Those look pretty bad as he really only shows the 2 with dates that are probably AG. Most of the others look flat and smooth. I'd pass and save for some nicer ones. Plus you buy junk you will have a hard time selling it if you ever had to.

If you are going to collect on the low end, try to find coins with dates, that are not bent or have heavy damaged.

Check. At least dates and no damage. I got this one recently. Looks better up close.

$3 per cull is about market price, assuming the date is legible. Counterstamped examples are NOT considered culls.

I'd take $3 per cull! Date must be readable though.

Culls seemed to sell on ebay for up to $6 Each. Do you think the one in my picture is a cull?

Here are some examples of what these should go for

http://www.ebay.com/itm/22244043470...RK:MEBIDX:IT

$5-$6 is what they trade at, though these seem better than your listing.

I used to buy a lot of Large cent lots off ebay just like these. I set a price, make a low offer, and you can't go wrong. Are you going to start a set? If so best of luck, it's a difficult & expensive set to complete. Best of luck.

That's what I wad thinking. Try to get a full set even if they are low grade coins. Then replace with nicer coins and upgrade the set

Sorry, can't understand the appeal of this sort of thing.
