This purports to be an obol of the Bactrian king Eukratides, Sear 7578. Though I believe this is a cast copy.

Ok interesting information Bob.

I wonder, @bobo13, if you could also post a close up pic of the extra metal that is at about 5 o'clock on the obverse (including an edge view)? It looks a little bit like a prior mounting, but may also be part of a gate or runner.

@bobo, ok thanks for the great follow-up pics. I can clearly see a parting line along the edge, although I'm not sure what that other hunk of metal is. Your coin was cast, which makes it a fake.

Does it have any value as replica, maybe $3-4?

Well, assuming that it is modern fake (as opposed to an ancient fake), I think that it has exactly zero numismatic value.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news--I hope that you can get your money back. What were the circumstances under which you bought this piece?
