Looking like it may be the first of a few, as I also like the 1999 Yellowstone and 2001 Buffalo.. I'm not used to looking at commemorative strikes, so I don't know how to grade them. Anyone want to share their thoughts? The mark on the reverse that seems to cross the F in FROM is a piece of lint. I do like the matte appearance though. I'm glad I went uncirculated instead of proof -- added bonus of a lower mintage for UNC strikes. Report this Post to the Staff

However, if it hasn't been out of the mint capsule and has a typical strike, they usually grade out 69-70. You picked a nice one to start your collection. I've got the Yellowstone and it's nice. As already noted, the grade should be either a 69 or 70 if it has never been handled outside of the US Mint capsule. I hope you enjoy having it as part of your collection for years to come!
