Wanted a suggestion for a coin magazine subscription.

Something good for a novice that wants to learn about collecting, grading, etc.

I am only interested in US coins, so don't need something that covers currency or international coins.

Prefer something I can buy a few copies in a local store somewhere, and then get a subscription if I like it.

Thanks.

I have subscribed to CoinWorld since the '70s. You can get the magazine or an online subscription. Or, just go to their website and browse articles for free. I recommend them to everyone interested in coins.

The Numismatist is my favorite. The only drawback is it has no blank cover or envelope so the front cover, always showing coins, is in full view.

Moxking, why is that a drawback?

GaryLomax because having that delivered to your home address could be a security issue. Big red flag should someone want to break in and check out what coins you have to steal.

I always liked CoinAge and Coin World. I think all of these types of mags should be mailed discreetly. Contact the companies and ask if they are. If they say they are not, recommend to them to start doing it that way.

Coins Magazine is my favorite . Good coin related articles , prices on all U.S. coinage , monthly article on coin finds , etc.

Same thing I was going to say. If your mail box is not large enough, might stick out and the entire world would see you have coins.

Thanks.. I am going to pick up a few back-issues of some of these (can get them on ebay) and see which ones look to be more towards my interests. Good way to "try" before I "buy" a full subscription.
