A nice serrate denarius with clear adjustment marks. I can count 5 clear strikes of a chisel on the reverse and possibly two more that were weakened from striking. While it most certainly detracts from the design, it also connects the coin to someone from 79BC when this was struck who took a chisel and hammer to it. Despite the adjustment, this coin is pretty nice, and it doesn't really detract all that much. The reverse details are very sharp, particularly the palm frond and horses faces. Inscription reads TI CLAVD TI F AP N. Obverse is portrait of Diana with bow and quiver over shoulder.

I envy your source for material like this. Those flan weight adjustment marks have fascinated me since learning of them on this list not long ago. I would love to get an example or so. You have done this with a beautiful coin as well. Good job picking this one out and adding it to your collection. It is easy on the eyes. I know you are presently interested in the serrati, and that is one more dimension of the significance of this selection.

Bravo!

Super coin, those adjustment marks are clearly visible and add more character to the coin. Congrats.
