Kk... I just saw on the U.S. Mints website in the "new products" area, that they have a 2007 George Washington proof removable coin in a leather folder....here's the price ........$19.95...plus shipping & handling !......they plan on doing this for each president...of course along with all of the other "re-packaging" stuff they do with them already in "proof" and "uncirculated" form!!.....
...........

Sure I'll say that it IS a nice looking leather folder with a cool pic of George Washington at the upper part of the folder and the coin implanted in the center.....inside the folder is an authentic signature from him and other info..........

They must have A LOT OF COINS TO GET RID OF !........now they'll be making better money "per coin" too !

This last 10 years of U.S. Mints products are going wild !......constantly changing and now they've entered into an ever growing popular industry of "making money on money"

It's all in the marketing. Some people will buy it because it looks cool and they will THINK it will be worth more.

I don't get the whole "leather folder" thing, but that must be somebody's idea of marketing to a demographic for whom those folders were once commonplace (1960s-70s I think). But for people like me, leather folder screams coin scam--future garage sale item.
