If I can vent just a bit... 2 separate auctions where 2 separate sellers describe bills are UNC or Better. Only to find creases, bends, and folds under proper lighting when received.

What am I not seeing properly on the original seller's pictures?

Both packages arrived securely, envelopes not damaged in any way.

On a good note, both sellers have been very responsive to resolve the cases (one giving a discount, one accepting a return).

Bills seem to be washed and pressed. Maybe sellers weren't aware or they were trying to pull a "fast one" on an unsuspecting buyer - who knows!

Depending on the lighting and angle one photo is very hard to judge grade.... I typically I only buy notes when I can see them in hand or from a Trusted seller...

For raw notes I MUST see them in hand.. I like to hold them up to the light as that's a great way to see the creases even if they have been soft or hard pressed...

UNC notes are tough to find for this time period and both of the ones you were interested in were raw... Perhaps you may want to look for a graded example?

Thanks for the reponses. Ive bought many bills on ebay, but I find it interesting that these 2x 1937 series have been grossly overrated by sellers that have 100% positive feedback.

It is very difficult to judge raw notes by pictures. I have been fooled many times. Unless it is a note describedd by sellers as to faults and problems, I just get TPG graded notes these days. If you can deal with someone you trust and have had good luck in the past, then I would go with that seller.
