Hey Guys, So I got my first of halves in a 500$ box..and found 1 40% silver. I was hoping for more..and all the coins were not in a box as expected but a big clear bag. I got the bag from Wachovia and it was "brinks." Tons of 71, 74,77 and bicentenials. Any one know if bank of america does "roll coin boxes?" ...or if they find more silver content in them or another bank ? :P Thanks!

Yes, bank of america does infact do boxes. Those suckers weigh a whoppping 24.5 pounds! My first box from Bank of America yielded several silvers.

well the first time I bought halves from any bank (which happened to be bank of america) I could only but 30 dollars worth, that was all they had. I found 1 40%. thats pretty good since it was only 60 coins. yay

I just finished a box of halves. Here is a list of what I kept. 1--64 1--66 3--67 2--68d 1--69d 1--83s 1--97s the rest are BU 1--2002d 1--2002p 1--2004d 28--1995p 38--2006p 34--2006d I was so overwhelmed by the volume of potential keepers that I ordered another box yesterday. I kept the BU's because I didn't know if they had any value to collectors, but reading a few threads on this board promted me to hold them for a while till I'm boxed out. nlp

nlp coins............... You had an amazing box right there !.....I've got a box ordered from the Fed Res. through my bank.....waiting for them to come in now.... and my hopes are down to ONE 40%er!....I would sure like to be surprised, but through training..... my expectations and the law of averages have my hopes quite low!...

the 2002 through present will surely go for more than .50 cents just because they were NIFC. Those 1995, not so much IMO. I come across tons of these and never keep them.

Spetti2000............ I "specifically" tell my bank that I want them ordered from the Federal Reserve Bank (and these always come in a box)..so as to eliminate the possibility of ....... "pick up" bags or "armored truck" drop off bags or stuff they may have there in the vault or stuff brought from one bank to another bank or other customers "dump station" coins........I just say "exactly" where I want them to come from.....

Just go to the head teller or the one that is in charge of ordering coins and tell them that you "need" a BOX of halves, not a bag/sack b/c it is easier for you to carry or something like that.

I have a couple of pick up banks, mostly serviced by Dunbar. I pick up a box or two from my dump bank because people use the free coin counter and dump all kinds of walkers and franklin's in there. I don't normally pull from the dump bank but its yielded some good results. I say that success if directly attributable to the amount you search.
