silver is $18 per ounce...that's about $7 per 90% silver half and $3 per 40% half
Save a few of the higher grade examples and take a well deserved vacation with the rest! welcome to the forum!

That really depends, Spetti2000. Are your Halves 90% or 40% Silver, or neither?
If neither, then your best bet is to take them to your local bank and order a box of $500 and search for silver, or spend the $750 for the next year on Sunday breakfasts at Dennys or whatever else your heart desires :)
Take Care,
Laura

Sell them all, silver or not, and buy high grade key date coins of a set you would like to complete. Then spend the rest of your time completing it!

When I ponder the future of the Kennedy half.......I can't get myself to "sell" any of them (the silver ones).....either 90% or 40% ones.
Since 2002 they're not made for circulation everybody knows......but when will it end completely?.....Will the U.S. Mint melt down their stocks of the Kennedy half ?....soon ?.......I don't know.
So for me, regardless what the price of silver does......I wanna keep my 1964 - 1970 Kennedy halves.......at least for twenty years or so to see what might happen.......they could easily be worth MORE than the spot price of silver someday......just a pondering...

I recently traded in 6 rolls of 40% Kennedys for 15 ASEs. Not as bulky and easier to sell later.

I would say with complete your sets and use the money from the spare silver ones to buy better coins you have been looking at or just spend the money as you would like.
I hope that they don't pull and melt all the kennedys. I think that it would be more costly to do that then just keeping them around as they are now.Because it has to be a pain to melt the coins and try to separate the metals in the melting process. But I guess if the values keep rising on these two metals they will find a way to do it.
