Or where can I find that information? PCGS lists them both for $7 in MS-64, but I find it hard to believe that it would only be worth 50 cents more than the worth of its silver, and I don't know how often the site updates itself in regards to the fluctuating silver price.

Or do proofs taken directly from proof sets typically grade higher than that?

a proof coin wouldn't grade MS anything, they would grade PF or PR (according to which grading company graded the coin) so you are probably getting the price of a clad MS half dollar instead of a silver proof coin. That being said I probably wouldn't even give $7.00 for a silver proof half dollar and definitely not a MS-64 clad coin

Down towards the bottom of the page. They have about the same prices as you said. I'm not sure, but I imagine that most proofs, unless a little beat-up will grade that.

But, there were 850k silver 2000-S's minted and 1.13 million 2003-S's, so they are pretty common.

You will not usually find a coin in a modern proof set with a grade lower than PR67. Those halves are common enough that they are not worth too much, $10-15.

OK, well it looks like I'm going to win a roll of each on ebay for about $140 each. So if I can sell each one for $10 then I'll make a decent profit. I'll wait for silver to go up a little more too I guess.

EDIT: Wheww. I was outbid on both auctions, which is probably a good thing because when I bid it was purely on impulse.

1999 silver PR-69 list at $100.00 a 70 is about $1200.00.
2000 Pr-69 are about the easiest on your pocket at $60.00 I have not found a 70 yet but I will.
I think 2005 is one to watch 1st satin finish
