... for the help so many of you gave with my earlier post, let me share this jeton from Krauwinckels of Nurenburg, late 16th century:

As-An-Introduction-And-Thank-You

As-An-Introduction-And-Thank-You

Inscription translates as "God the honour alone" and "God's gifts shall be praised".

It's not incredibly uncommon but it's always nice to see one that's still so crisp (if a little bent).

Very nice! We see these pretty often on CCF. If you search on the keyword "Nurenburg", you will find many brother jetons for your piece.

Thanks Spence. I've just had a call and must go out to a client but as I was on the phone, I picked up this one and started turning it around in my fingers ... I don't have time to do anything with it right now more than let you see the sort of haphazard assortment I'm dealing with.

Nice one! That one is a barbarous radiate, probably of the Gallic emperor Victorinus (going based on the nose shape, the legend is gibberish).

I have both Victorinus and barbarous radiates covered here, for a picture of how they fit into the 3rd century empire:

Aha! Then I'm starting to get these grouped. If you liked that last one, take a look at two more that seem to match those in the thread that you linked:

There's some great toning to some of these coins. The last coin showing the reverse faces is sideways, as I turned the coins in medal orientation to show how the sides are orientated (does that makes sense?). Anyway, thank you for the pointers ... I'm now starting to understand how these all fit together.

In the coin books, there was no attempt at date order or cataloguing. I've got Roman next to Medieval next to Greek next to Jetons. There's even a button in there. I can only think that they are placed in the order in which they were bought or, more likely, found.
