The surfaces look funny, like they are peeling almost and around the rim on the obverse and reverse the design elements are very weak. Like TRUST is missing the last T and so on. Thanks in advance!

The degree of wear looks almost backwards to me. Some elements that are usually strong (those near the rim, as you point out) are weak, while elements that are usually weak (the lettering on the reverse, and the hair near the center of the obverse) are stronger than on most examples I've seen.

Plus the surface texture on both sides just looks wrong, as you note. I'm going with "fake".

It looks really sloppy the way it fades on the edges isn't typical of Peace dollars it may be a error coin but it's very unlikely so I'd say it fake as well

Is the weight correct, and is is attracted to a magnet?
The ST could simply be grease in the die.
