Hey makescents9, is the mark near the bottom of Lincoln's ear a die chip? It's hard to tell since the pictures are a little blurry. I'll venture a guess anyway (though I'm admittedly a novice). I'm guessing MS64RD.

MC9, it's almost too blurry, but...I think I see what youre talking about. Because the "doubling" you see has reduced the image size so to speak, it is MD, Mechanical Doubling, what happens in machining...a vibration. There's no "known" bust doubling for this date and I'll say "generally", the doubling tends to be on the outer devices. If found on the bust, it is usuially what's called "Master die doubling" that appears on many dies, many coins and isn't considered a true doubled die.

Can't say I can see doubling on his face. Do you think you can get a clearer, closer image?

You can also crop the pic to the size of the coin would help also.
