What a great example! These little boogers are hard to grade, they're so tiny. I'd say MS63, but I'm not expert on them.

I have never tried to grade one of these before. I'm a 3 cent silver virgin grader.

The details on the obverse lines matter most likely and this coin is a beauty with outstanding lines on the obverse. Although I know little about the series, I'm willing to bet striking this tiny coin was problematic. I bet getting MS coins with great line details on the obverse is very hard (think of the full steps of Jefferson nickels or full bell lines of Franklin halves as examples).

Nice Type I example....rim ticks and contact marks prevent it from GEM status
