Congrats on this purchase as well.
The 6th edition Kelly census CD shows 30 large size reported on the FNB of Walla Walla. Only 2 of those were Brown Backs, yours being one of them.

MeadowviewCollector, would you say this note is desired and collectible?

Quote: desired and collectible? That is an understatement. I've never seen one before. Congratulations!

I reached out to the owner of the ch. 9030 1929 $10 (my other post) and was working out a deal for that note and he mentioned this one. We ended up making a deal for both. From all the feedback I've received, I'm happy I got them. Seem to be two nice rare and hard to come by notes. Feeling better and better about the deal I made. Thanks again everybody.

Which note would forum say is more valuable, the ch. 9030 $10 or the ch. 2380 $20.

I can find no public auction record for the $20 Brown Back. The closest comparable I found is an 1882 Date Back that Lyn Knight sold in a 2008 auction for $5,462.50.
As to whether this note or the $10 is more valuable, I cannot say with certainty. They are both valuable nonetheless.

I dislike choosing a small size note over a large one, but in this case I would pick the 9030 simply because of the bank rarity.

Wonderful note! Walla Walla is about 35 miles north of where I live. I wonder if the old National Bank building is still standing. Next time we get up there I'll check around.

Here's an historic photo of the Paine Building, which also housed the WW National Bank. In 1921 they built a new, more ornate bank building, but this one was probably where they issued your note. I'll have to try to figure out where the original building was located. If I find it I'll post a current photo.

GregAlex, that's a cool pic. Keep us posted if you get a current day pic. Feels like the note has some history attached to it.
