I've been viewing the lots online for the past couple of weeks. What a selection there is. I spied two nationals I'd love to add to my collection but realistically expect them to sell for more than I can afford. Is anyone else watching this auction? http://lynknight.com/home.asp?d=US-MV

I received my auction catalog last Friday and have my eye on a couple of notes. There are some fantastic notes and sheets up for auction in this annual show in it's first year in Kansas City. Lynn usually has a jam packed event which is on my bucket list of currency shows I'd like to attend one year when my circumstances change.

It's cool to be able to watch the lots sell via Knight Live--the lot pops up and one can see watch the bidding activity pretty rapid fire. LOL I keep my cursor far, far away from the green bid button no accidental bidding going to happen on my watch. -MV

I agree MVC, and it's really a rush to have an active bid on a lot and watch it cominging up in the next few minutes. Your finger is on the trigger and you almost get excited and anxious when it's your turn to lock and load.

What an auction this was as I watched several lots sell before mine came up. Some pretty cool notes including a $10,000 Gold Certificate and National Gold Bank Notes.
I decided that I'd bid on one of the two lots I was interested in--worst case scenario being that I didn't win it.
Nationals began and the time for Missouri ones came. A breathtaking $2 from California, Missouri sold. Then a few others. The lot I was interested in came up and closed with not much competition.
Long story short-- I won the lot I wanted for less than what I expected to pay. A win in my book. Will reveal the note when the transaction is completed.
