Multiple Strike Error On Roosevelt Dime

I was mistaken about the letters going halfway around the obverse upper half, they are recessed. If it is a vise job, how could the field not be disturbed and only the outer edges? I'm not denying it's a vise job, I'm just wanting to know how I could tell for sure. Thanks Report this Post to the Staff
