I can't tell from your image. It is too close in. But here they two are side by side:

Note the space above the head. That seems to be an easier to tell the difference to me? (between the motto and the top of the head) The small dates bust is also smaller.

Coop...Do all large date 9's curve in and point back towards the 8 like that as well? The small date 9 looks to be pointing more towards the MM. Is this another marker?

Your cent is a small date. Also the body of the small date 2 is curved a bit as the 2 on a large date is straight.

Looks at the PCGS site, they both should look the same. The date one reminds me of the 1970-S small date tail. But it must be the coin/lighting that makes it look that way.

Definitely small date. The lower left of the 2 bulges out on the small date.
