Can anyone direct me to a decent, inexpensive, tablet-size backlight panel? Anywhere from 3"x5" up to 6"x9" would be perfect.

Ray I have purchased these little led blocks. they are about 2 inches buy 3 inches. there is 40 little individual leds on the board. I can make a panel of any size I want. I am not sure if this is what you mean. these are all from those cobb angel eyes lights. these are suppose to be 4000 to 4500 K. these are called natural day light or neutral white. what this means. this is at the beginning of day light white. just a hint of blue spectrum. the nice thing these are dimable as well. the only draw back you have to build a power supply.

Thanks Rocky, I'll look into those. I did buy some of their ring lights to test.
