rosso_rubino Valued Member Italy 244 Posts	Posted 04/10/2008 4:09 pm Hi guys, this question to ask some sugegstions about how do you clean coins when they are dirty of glue. I got a stock of very good coins, but unfortunatly few of them (early 1900) have a small glue label directly attached on coins. I'm thinking to try to clean them using hot water, but some suggestions are always useful. Coins are Netherlands 1 cent km# 131, 132, 152 thanks a lot, Antonio. Report this Post to the Staff

thq Pillar of the Community United States 3343 Posts	Posted 04/10/2008 6:38 pm Hot or boiling water sounds like the best place to start. This will take off any old starch or dextrin glue. If it's a newer synthetic glue or otherwise won't come off, try rubbing alcohol, acetone or gasoline. "Two minutes ago I would have sold my chances for a tired dime." Neal2216 New Member United States 4 Posts	Posted 04/11/2008 11:44 pm I dont know much about restoring old coins or coins period, I'm pretty new to coin collecting, but I work alot with wood and I know mineral spirits will take glue off really good, not sure what it will do to a coin though?
