Looks like a chipped die or gouged die spot to me. Kind of reminds me of some of the 60's and 70's cents always having a mint mark filled in or some part of the lettering. I have noticed when I find one of these extra metal spots it seem to be towards the end of the die's life cycle and sometimes they even show up along with die cracks but can happen anytime in the dies life. So my guess is chipped or gouged die.

If it's raised like I think it is, I agree with JDB0673. If it's not raised like I don't think it is, it would be damage.

The second new pic seems to show evidence of the steps behind it. That would suggest a plating issue. Or, a coincidentally formed Die chip. The chip could not be removed with a toothpick, Plating could.
Rest in Peace

I'll toss my opinion in here. It is quite possible it is a die gouge that is starting to crack. The other possibility is it is a plating bubble, altho this is the lesser of the two. the surface appears rough, linear NE to SW lines, again plating issues or Die Deterioration. Pix just aren't sharp enough to determine any further.

That's good you cleared that up , because going by the first picture of the obverse that would have been a 92 CAM

I caught that as well Mike and my heart jumped out of my chest until I continued reading on.

In the position that the anomaly is in it just seems to be going in the wrong direction for my brain. I am leaning more towards excess plating or possibly a scratch that was deeper into the coin and now it has been smooth out with circulation.

There have been some pretty cool coins coming along this week so who knows. We'll have to wait for the experts to come along.

I hope it turns out to be something good for you coookiemonster.
