New Member From Bend, Oregon

Hi guys,
Just joined today. My roommate had a bunch of old coins stashed away for most of his life that he pulled out one day and he has no interest in coin collecting and has no clue what anything is worth so I told him I'd look over everything and see if he has any diamonds in the rough so to speak. I've also never collected coins other than the various things you tend to acquire over the years. Also FYI, my roommate is 60 years old, I'm 55. So now that I started going through his coins I got the bug and decided to start collecting coins! My current interests are coins from the "renaissance of American coins" which started in 1916. So far I'm slowly collecting Mercury dimes and Liberty Walking half dollars. I'm also pretty proficient with using ebay and have several coins for sale there now, but I'm spending a lot more than I'm making! LOL!
I've already lost money selling one coin due to my ignorance but that's life. I'll start another thread showing the pics of the coin and see if someone here has an eagle eye enough to spot why the coin is very valuable and only one guy caught it on ebay. Anyway, I gotta go to work, I'm off tomorrow and will post it tonight or tomorrow. Please have patience with this novice as I ask a lot of stupid questions in the future! I have lots of experience with the internet and various forums, I've been an IT guy most of my life so I'm really computer literate and I talk (type) a lot so I may end up being very active here.
