To be honest ,can't see much with half of your coin being dark,but as Coop said, what is it that you see and need help with?

Looks like a flattened fin from a coin that was struck with a tilted die. Just spendable. If the fin was present, then it would have a little value. That is why the rim looks like that. But what is a fin?

Once that area is flattened, then the coin is not a collectable. (like your coin) But that is why it looks like that.
