It only takes a bit of education to tell the fakes from the real ones. I do not consider myself an expert by any means, but a few years ago I deliberately bought some of the fakes to study them. I also shared some of the results here on this forum.
The following is the thread for the 1879 Morgan I bought and compared to a legit 1879. But note what to look for and they are not all that hard to ID. Where to really be careful would be when buying a large amount at one time. You need the time to look at them all.
