1863 IHP (Again :) DD Or "Corrosion DD Effect"

Last one for now of my 1863. I debated on posting this coin because it is in horrible pitted condition. however, when I was examining it, the letters appeared doubled. I am not sure if this is from corrosion or DD.
I know they repaired the E and S on states on many of the dies, so perhaps that was doubled, several of the other letters appeared doubled as well - or is there something called the "corrosion doubling effect" :)

This appears to be typical "shelf doubling" as often found on Indian cents. There are other terms for it as well.
