Some may know that I got a 1999 proof set off of ebay on a hunch and it turned out to be fortuitous. It does indeed have a Close AM variety cent.

I've decided to sell it and am considering ebay (because of experience, familiarity and exposure). Looking at sold listings for 1999-s Close AM cents, I find mostly single coins that have been graded/slabbed. Do you think it would be better to sell the set as it is in OGP or crack it and submit the cent for grading?

Also, if I were to list it as is, would BIN (with or without Best Offer) or auction be better? What do you think the starting bid/BIN price should be?

I have a good amount of experience selling on ebay but not coins. Any suggestions are certainly appreciated. For potential grading purposes, this is the coin in question:

I've been considering getting rid of mine as well -- if you list yours, I'll be sure to wait a bit so there are fewer options for buyers. My plan was to sell as is with the entire proof set. Price history has varied with whole sets versus slabbed examples, but I was thinking about listing as a $120 BIN with best offer, and hoping someone offered over a hundred for it. I just took a look at prices, and I see a set for $90.

I'd stay away from auctions. There are two examples that sold earlier this year for $32 (PCGS PR67) and $26 (raw, I think). Unless you already sell coins and have a large numismatic customer base following you, it'd be a game of trying to throw in enough search terms to get views before the auction ends. IMO, buy it now is the way to go!

Yeah, I saw that set listed for $90 and it discouraged me. Maybe I should wait until that one sells, if it sells. The less competition the better!

I've been tempted to bundle the CAM set plus my 1999 WAM as one listing and ask $300 for it. I'm not sure if that would help me or hurt me, but I'm not sure about the risk if buyer tries to claim via ebay buyer protection.
