The '9' especially is strongly doubled.

I've never seen such strong doubling before.

Very nice example! Would you agree with a 64? I am unsure of the lines on the reverse? Package lines or scratches?

There are two types of 9/9 for the 1893 5c. Both appear with similar frequency and neither are particularly rare.

This is a beauty and even if it has hairlines, it deserves a hard slab. For value, I'd say 2x Trends multiplier.

There must be several varieties of doubling on the 1893 5 cent although I see only two in the Charlton guide. I bought the following 1893 ICCS MS-65 in the Landon auction. Doubling in both the date and the lettering of 'cents'.

I had a closer look at the coin, and I am not sure if this is real doubling or ridges on the dates from being repunched with minimal overlap. Regardless, the '3' has been mangled from the process. Any ideas?
