Good Afternoon Ladies and Gents, I am a new member from Kelowna, BC, Canada. I collected coins when I was younger. Currently I mainly collect Hockey Cards and Memorabilia plus some musician autographs. I have am in the midst of finding my old coin collection as they are piled away in storage. Once I find my collection I will post and it would be great if someone could help me sort through them. Recently there are coins offered with NHL players embossed which drew my interest to this site. I was planning on adding these to my collection and wanted a second opinion on them. Upper Deck (Hockey Card Company) uses an online platform to purchase called e-pack which I use to purchase cards, along with CIBC. When you purchase the coins there are rare ones and you don't know what you are getting. I don't have an issue with this as I am use to randomly getting cards through the site. Please let me know your thoughts. First off, welcome to CCF Second, those are not Canadian coins, they're issued in the name of the Cook Islands. So they are what's called NCLT (Non-circulating Legal Tender). As a caution, in the aftermarket there is rarely much premium and they will trade based on their ounce of silver (what's called melt - the spot or instantaneous price of the silver). But if you like them, go for it - just know what it is that you are buying. (a coin is issued by a government entity and legal tender vs. a medal)

Thanks for the information of the classification on the type of coin. I thought they would be good to add some to my collection as I collect various types of Hockey items. Also, thanks for the warm welcoming!
