I can't find the button that allows me to quote a post when replying. Where is it hiding? Thanks.

First hit the "switch to full reply" button and then it is one of the buttons at the top (second from the right).

Where it says format when you are replying to a post and it has a bunch of things like bold and italic etc. all the way to the second from the far right is the quote button.

Quote: I can't find the button that allows me to quote a post when replying. Where is it hiding? Thanks You first have to Copy & Paste the verbiage that you want in quotes into the "Reply to Topic" box. Highlight the entire quote then click on the "Insert quote" button. That's how I do it. Hope this helps.

He's right though, this forum does make it harder to quote people. Mostly why I don't.

Quote: He's right though, this forum does make it harder to quote people. And that is on purpose. When there is a quote button that grabs the entire post lazy people ruin it. You get post after post after post after post that's quoted and it's a horrific mess and makes no sense because people can't be bothered to take 20 seconds and only quote what's intended. Below is what happens ALL the time and it's a mess. This is why that function was removed.

I find it easier to copy the text I want to quote, then in the reply (not quick reply) click the quote button FIRST, then paste. The insertion point is right between the quote|/quote, so all you have to do it paste.

I'll have to try that, nss. That does sound easier than pasting and highlighting first. Thanks! Quote: The insertion point is right between the quote|/quote, so all you have to do it paste. Hey, it worked!
