I agree, jbuck. Seems like there was just some extra "new" condition Danscos laying around and they are being sold. Luckily at a very nice price if that really is the case. We will see!

Yes, based on GR58's conversations, I believe Paul was mistaken when he told me the modern page had been updated. I think his reference point was an older model.

It would have been preferable to see an update, but seeing it back in print is a positive sign.

I wonder what the true 7070 market is for producing again without an update to it... I'd think it might sell a couple of hundred vs updating a new version and tempt every type collector into possibly updating their album

I would not update mine just to get holes for a few modern things that are already in other albums. However, I might consider an update if they added some more classic items.

Spoke to a dealer and he confirmed Dansco is shipping newly "minted" Danso 7070s. It was a surprise to him when I mentioned the rumor and he called a source on the spot to confirm. He was astonished! Haha!

This whole 7070 shortage is strange. If you are going to make coin albums....... make them. Doesn't make any sense. I realize the market may be less than 1000 nation wide, but still?!?!

It's more than 1k, but keep in mind that Dansco does not only make coin albums. They probably got tired of the yammering from their resellers and finally made some more.

I can definitely see where this would be a time-consuming and costly album to make, with all the various hole sizes on each page, and why they would be reluctant to do it in anything but large batches.

If the album are the same, it wouldn't cost much for Dansco to remake, since they will reuse the die for all the pages.

It would cost a lot more if they have to do a new die, in that case, might as well add a extra hole or two for what we hoping for. Although many collectors inquired about it, I don't think it meet the demand of quantities for minimum reprint and finishing until now.

Thank you for doing that, jpbone.

I would not be surprised if Dansco had a threshold. "Okay, that was the thousandth call about the 7070, I think it is time to make a batch."

Mine shows "status not available" even though it shipped a few days ago also. I'm sure it will get here. Not worried about it.
