A father and son team, Richard and Nicholas Faucher, who have been active as coin show dealers for the past several years, are taking the plunge and opening the first coin shop on the Quebec side of the river in Gatineau. Richard and Nicholas have been avid collectors of coins for many years now, and have participated regularly in the Ottawa Numismatic Society. Always happy to have another coin shop in the city!! They should be officially open soon... https://www.le30sou.com/upcoming-shows-news"Discovery follows discovery, each both raising and answering questions, each ending a long search, and each providing the new instruments for a new search." -- J. it's awesome to see they've gotten a brick and mortar store going, I hope it does well. I haven't been a huge customer of theirs but I have bought from them and always enjoy seeing them at the coin expo.
Feel free to call me Will.

Cool! Son in Law just got a job in Ottawa and they're considering living in Gatineau. My older Daughter and family are already in Kanata - Don't need a psychic to tell me that there may be a move in my future...

They had an "unofficial" opening on the 15th and the 16th of April, and maybe it is now open in general. I wish them well and will have to visit soon.
People who visited liked it.

I could not make it to the unofficial opening, but I intend to visit them soon... being collectors themselves, they fully understand the mindset of collecting varieties and other nuances that some coin dealers will never understand... I think they will do very well. I would like to encourage them to roll up their sleeves and get involved with the online community as well...

I met Richard and Nicholas at quite a few shows over the past few years. They are quite knowledgable and very familiar with varieties ..... too bad that this will cut down on their GTA coin shows. All the best for this endeavour and visit their well laid out website per SPP's entry above.

Yes, I met Richard's father at the Oshawa show a year or so ago and had a tremendous cool chat, I wish them much luck in their store.

I made the pilgrimage to Gatineau this afternoon. This was one of the best coin stores I have been to in a while. It has a great mix of graded and raw Canadian and world coins, bullion, numismatic literature, proper lighting, ample space to move around, and well-maintained showcases. Prices were competitive. What a treat. I wish Nicholas and Richard the best of luck. Anyone within a few hours drive or in the Ottawa area should absolutely check it out.
We need more people like this to step up and create a comfortable, welcoming environment for collectors, dealers, and the public. Kudos!
