This was in a group of Victoria cents I acquired today on the cheap. They may be common in mint state for all I know, but I hadn't run across one before, and I thought this specimen's condition was certainly decent enough. Colligo ergo sum

Very nice.... if you paid the same price as the other Victorian large cents you picked up, you scored a great deal!

Very nice looking example! I've been looking for a nice XF-AU example for my own collection for years but can't find one that meets my standards....

Maybe I'm misapprehending the situation, but with 2 million struck, I wouldn't expect these to be too hard to find in general, and the "book" values suggest that'd even apply to the higher grades.

They are easy enough to find in low grades but they're usually damaged or covered in verdigris or just plain ugly due to some sort of problem. I'd like a nice AU with maybe a little bit of red left in it, or a nice glossy brown. I have seen them from time-to-time in Mint State for X-hundred dollars but I don't want one that bad....

Funny how things happen , I was just looking at one of these with the reverse die axis today , A g8 at best , do you think $10.00 Canadian would be a deal ? Also Just a note to say I was out and about with the easter bunny again this year , some of the faces of the little ones are priceless , well worth at least a nickle anyway/
