Here are four pictures of a 1945 cent with a prominent lump at the juncture of the neck and jaw. At the base of the bust is a nice die scratch. Please let me know what you think.

The "die scratch" is a die crack and may be an early stage of a Retained Cud and maybe a Cud eventually (depending on how long it took for the die to be replaced). It doesn't seem to extend to the rim on the upper side here.

Under the jaw looks like a die chip or gouge.

That small piece near the throat is on other KGVI years too, but you don't see it as often as other worn/damaged-die errors. I think it's probably a form of deteriorated die error, reminiscent of those found on the late '70's/early '80's. Nice find!

Thank you all for the comments, much of the same thoughts I had. I'm just glad such an obvious mark was on a coin in such nice condition.
