88 ... 30, 96 ... 40, 01 ... 20, 1912 ... AU, little wear on vertical crown, eyebrow, & cheek.

BTW, the '96 is close to a "far 6", as sometimes described, but it's not quite out far enough. ICCS quit cert'ing them because there were so many different placements of the 6 (up, down, far, near, CW, CCW)... the 6's were all handpunched into the die.

I agree with okiecoiner but, the 1888 may have been cleaned.

Yes I did notice that ,The "variety" is not listed in 2016 Charlton's,maybe because of ICCS
but is on coinsandcanada.com .

It's not listed in Charlton's because there was never any definitive decision (or even a reason) to say which of the many many different spacings of the '96 was to be called a "far 6". Even Griffin couldn't come up with enough vocabulary to describe the varying gap spaces of the '96.... he had to use adverbs in front of the "far" to delineate. The actual coin that was the first one cert'd by ICCS was visually a "very far, very high 6 with a CCW cant or rotation". I was friends with the owner and also friends with Rick Simpson, the VP of the RCNA and the writer of "Trends" at the time. Rick is the one that pushed it through to Charlton .. and once in the front of Charlton, then ICCS will certify the variety. If you were to buy 10 random 1896's, the chances that you will have 5-6 different spacings or vertical alignments between them will be pretty good. I've written to CoinsandCanada to tell them to remove it, but I guess that collectors want to know that they think they have a $15-$20 coin instead of a $4 coin.

Thank you okiecoiner for the info .What you state is what I understood from what
I have read (in Charlton's I think) about the coin.
As for value I agree its a $4 dollar coin .I purchased it for the
grade that I thought it was and you folks have confirmed my thought that
it's VF or maybe a bit better
