After going through over thousands of penny I have being put in a jar for years, I came across this one and the date looked weird. Can anyone tell me if it is messed up or is it my eyes playing with me. This is exactly how I found it.

Quote: is it an error? No. It is damage that happened after the coin was struck.

Click on PMD and you will see in the glossary that it means Post Mint Damage. This means the damage occurred after the coin was minted (or struck).
