there's something there, it's really faint, is it a dot or just a mark?

It appears to be a stain or flawed planchet in the sense that it is discolored there. There are no raised areas where the dot should be. Keep looking, you're bound to find one :)

Just a mark on the coin.
Even if it was raised, it is too far from the seven
too be considered a 47 Dot.
