A month ago when I saw this one, I wanted it, and I finally got it to its final resting place ! Story in main forum-https://goccf.com/t/28699

I like the luster, a nice coin with just a little toning near the rim. Does not appear to have been cleaned IMO. The only problems I see are the weakness at 1 o'clock on the reverse, and the weakness in the hair details on the obverse (not uncommon on these to have weak hair detail)
Grade opinions appreciated, I will post the grade I purchased it at later this week. Enjoy !

Almost forgot to post the grade...I bought this as an AU coin. I think it is a nice looking AU, I am very happy with it !

These coins are almost always weak at the center of the obverse, with poor definition in Liberty's hair. Sometimes the date is a bit mushy as well, but this is the first one I've seen with such extreme weakness at "OF" in the reverse legend. Can you see scratches or other signs of damage here? If not, maybe this is a grease-filled die situation.

I think I see wear in the tiara and the hair lock that crosses the headband. The field in front of Liberty's face, her eyebrow, and cheek look slightly darker which I presume is from friction. The reverse has generally strong detail with some slight rub at the eagle's right shoulder. Luster seems muted which could be from dipping, lighting, or a combination. There are few contact marks.

Assuming the weak legend was not due to damage, I'd call this AU-50 to AU-53.

There are some polishing lines around the weak legend, it resembles the area on the reverse of the Lincoln Cent that is weak/polished alot - the "of A" area...know what I mean ? Combination polish/grease fill maybe, definitely not post mint.

This one has great luster, I had to tone down the lighting and contrast so the highlights would not wash out the details. The high relief makes for alot of highlighted areas from the lighting...still working on picture perfection !

Nice coin InfiniteInterest! I have one of those I'll have to dig up and take decent pics of, all I have are the auction pics at the moment. Nice find, and a way cool story!

Here's the auction pics, sans the holder:

The reverse has to get the grade here.
Obverse is very nice. Tough on these dollars
but if held to the same criteria as others
it has to go EF-45. Most likely got an AU50
