It's this a type two error? Common? Valuable, in the money sense? I read earlier that State Quarter errors are sought after. This true?

The mark in the field above the '2' on the date is just coin damage from the reeds from another coin. There is a slight amount of MAD (Miss-Aligned_Die) issue on the reverse. Not sure what you are talking about a type 2 error? I don't see a premium for your coin though.

PMD coin was hit by the edge of a coin leaving the 3 dots ,some states are in more demand then others, the more they make seems like the more errors show up , just keep looking , and maybe pics of the whole coin will help the pros here .

This is where I got my info. Wrong? If so lemme know.I can't download the webpage so I'll wing it. http://www.ERROR-REF.COM. PART IV: STRIKING ERRORS Unstruck Planchet "Type II Planchet" The image is courtesy Heritage auctions, but you'll see that when you get to the page. It explains it all. NO coin did that y'all, lol, look at the spacing. Lemme know if you can't find it and I'll email it to ya!

The notched marks on the Chickasaw quarter and the quarter planchet are Reeding Marks from another struck coin, it is simply damage.

Quote: While the coin is being made, or after? After. Type I and Type II are planchet terms.Type I is without the upset rim and type II is with the upset rim. John1

No, because that site is for errors and your coin is not an error. The similar bagmark on the planchet is coincidental, it most certainly does not prove that your coin is any sort of error.

But what if I have MANY of those marks on my coins? Especially a brand new 2017 Iowa State Quarter I h just got out of a roll yesterday? Is it still coincidence?

Yes, of course it is still a coincidence. The US Mint strikes coins and they are dumped into kevlar bag pallets that contain several hundred thousand coins, those coins will bang into each other and create "bagmarks".
