Don't know Don. It looks the Queens head might be too far forward for a Die Clash. Revision (used wrong photo)

It looks like it exists to me. The line seen is the one running from the crux of the chin to the underside of the lower lip. I wonder if there may be a little rotation playing in there as well. I see a couple of other areas that show through. I look at a lot of this type of thing and sometimes blurring the photo helps pick out images that are normally obscured by our clear view of the details on the coin. You can see certain faint lines if you really zoom in on parts of the image until they blur. I am really tired now so I won't try to list the items I 'think' I saw. Sorry for the laziness. I know in one view that I could see the nose but not considering the sharp obvious lines in the image. If I have a chance I will offer some better information tomorrow. Dave

Thanks for the replies. JimmyD, I think the design on the reverse of the 1977 Dollar is smaller as a result of the use of rim beads rather than denticles squeezing the image into the centre of the reverse and making the design smaller. This may throw off where the chin of the queen clashes with the voyageur. Try that image using a 1969 dollar.

I've noted that several of my silver dollars have a smooth/polished/distorted look around the area between the voyageur's chin/neck and the island. Yours seems to have a sharper line there though, and the area extends farther from the shoulder. I don't have any nickel dollars. I pulled these from older images, sorry they're bad, but perhaps you can get the idea. 1946 (also has the "normal" die clash seen on these): 1947 ML: 1948:

Awesome view Castor, that looks like the clash proof there.
I agree kbbpll, I have seen much variation around that area.

Nice... I am still looking for a strong 1969 die clash like that one...
