What's a ball park value of common date Buffalo nickels with clear date? Is a buck too much?

If you sell them individually by date, a dollar is probably reasonable. You can find plenty on E-Bay at that price. If you are selling by bulk, then you are looking closer to 50 cents apiece. I just checked current E-Bay sales and this seems about right (a 120 lot of clear date Buffalos was bid up to $60.00). You can search E-Bay records and see for yourself but keep in mind many E-Bay prices are a bit skewed by shipping and handling.

Also keep in mind that MANY Buffalo nickel bulk lots will contain no dates, partial dates, which lowers the value of bulk lots. Always ask the seller the % of full date, partial date and no date, if it is not clearly stated in the auction.
