Do you see the prices rising in the past several months, about the same, or (gasp!) less?

It's funny, just when I think I see them strengthening, I see some going for what I consider very reasonable (lower) prices. I see some go for nutty prices too. But, overall, the Greysheets show NO change at all! I don't think the retail guides have really budged either.

So, what are your thoughts?

I definitely think they SHOULD go higher. I really think they are undervalued, now.

What these series need is a good PR department. There is already a very limited supply. The only thing missing is the demand.

Haven't been in the game for those for awhile......the (8) 2 cents I have, I bought years ago.. 3 cents I would have been "gifted" them by my father...(and I think I've got at least one or two of those)...so... I never "purchased" them...and I don't think I have any 20 cents sadly......
I can't have that !.......I want a well represented collection with an interesting variety to it!
But, thanks to knowing you a bit and seeing your collection, I'm more than a bit interested in this topic too......this summer, I may have to add more of each of them to my hoard !...

I just bougt a couple of 3 cent(nickel) and am looking for a 3 cent silver. I thought the nickel ones were reasonably priced but the silver 3 cent ones are high, but need it for the type set so I will keep looking. Not sure about the 20 cents but I am sure they will be high by the time I get around to them if they are not already.

They should stay low until I'm done completing them. Then they can skyrocket by x50.

I don't think the prices have moved much in this neck of the woods, but it has been very hard finding nice specimens.

The price of nickel 3 cents seem to be fairly stable in Michigan. Supply seems to be a bit better now than a year ago.

I don't see prices moving much at all. Most people that I know buying coins are concentrating on silver denominations due to the price changes.

I've bought a couple 3CNs in the past six months. The prices seem pretty stable to me. The silver denominations are higher - and common, low grade ones fluctuate more with spot prices.

The 2 Cent market has become ridiculous. Over graded coins on ebay have pushed the prices up in general all round. Slabbed coins are now commanding a huge premium on Teletrade and heritage If you can get a slabbed coin fro the price listed in the PCGS price guide then you are doing well. Most of my suppliers no longer have anything but culls when they do get nice coins in they want 15to20% over gray sheet Ask. I am down to less than 3 purchases a month and its been a fair while since I saw anything above EF.

For example last week Teletrade Two Cent Piece 1865 PCGS 63 BN Final price $230 PCGS price guide $140 I have not seen a 2 Cent close at or below the PCGS price list for several months.

Richard, how are VF-AU 2¢ pieces doing? Those are typically the ones that I'd go after, not the Mint State stuff.

True VF-AU 2 Centers are going for around 20% over gray sheet Ask. Be very careful if you don't know this series the ebay syndrome has got the lesser dealers trying to convince you that a barely F12 is a VF. Hence the huge Premium on Slabs. I am seriously considering selling off my VF and below coins most of which I bought for a few dollars each in the mid 90's In any given day there are between 300 and 400 2 Centers on ebay. I could probably double that for a week. I wonder what that would do to the prices.. I just don't know if I can bring myself to part with them though.

I go to a Antique store and they sometimes have coins. I bought a 1866 2-cent in fair condition for $13. I bought a 1869 for $20 and a 1865 for $12. I don't believe I'll find too many more at this price, but these are probably pretty common.
