The neutron irradiated dimes are well known, but do you have anything else?

I have a couple of, not even tokens, but little discs, with die-punched devices of a logo & the mottoes "A Nuclear Age Metal / Zirconium" & "Wah Chang Albany / A Teledyne Company".

I also obtained a medal issued by British Nuclear Fuels Limited as some kind of 25th Anniversary commemorative. It's made of the "Magnesium Non-Oxidizing" or MAGNOX metal alloy, used for cladding uranium metal fuel slugs, which lent its name to the first generation of nuclear power plants in Britain. Unfortunately, there's a bit of corrosion, & I really don't know what to do about it.

Don't know of any other types but here is a photo of 2 I had done when I was a kid and my family visited the Museum in about 1963 from Canada on the way to Florida. Every year from 1955 to 65 we spent vacations camping all over the US, hitting all the tourist spots in about 40 states.

Just seen the Mercury dimes at auctions recently. Remember my dad in the 50's, worked for GE as chief engineer setting up nuclear power plants in Illinois, Wisconsin and Michigan. He died in 1982 from a weird blood disease that seemed to mimic exposure to radiation, would he count?

He would bring home souveneirs like these, encased in leaded glass, always wondered what would happen if glass broke...in reality less Rads than a chest X-ray.

TerryT, that is very spiffy! I've never seen anything other than the US dime in these enclosures before.

Publius & TerryT....

Love those Canadian versions. There are other Canadian ones around. I have seen George VI dimes on ebay. I picked up a George V dime a few years back. Won't have access to it for a picture for a week or two though.

The half life of irradiated silver isotopes are measured in days. At the end of a year, there is less than 0.2% of the longest lived isotope.
