I am not sure where to share this. This is my first time ever seeing one. Not sure what to do with it and how to see if it is real or fake. Any suggestions would be very helpful.
Thanks

There were many fakes printed over the decades after the Civil War, often these have collector value above the real bills.

With that said there are many more later fakes, often printed as souvenirs for gift shops such as the one in the Smithsonian and the American History Museum.

If you suspect that the bill is either real or a contemporary fake with collector's value then a specialty LCS should be able to help advise of it's value. Remember that they will offer you much less than they would resell it for, that is the only way they can pay the light bill and feed the staff.

I can almost guarantee that this one is real. I own a bunch of Confederate currency. The 1864 stuff was printed by the bucketload, and is not rare. Based on coloring and the color of the signatures and numbering that bill is real. That bill in that condition is likely worth in the $20 to $30 range

Genuine Confederate Notes Signatures should be in brown ink, Serial Numbers are mostly Brown or Red Ink..
Avoid Black ink Signatures on $1.00 & above..
